To strengthen the team, Zoologischer Garten Berlin AG is looking for an Elephant Keeper (m/f/d) at the earliest possible date.

Your Responsibilities:

• Carrying out all animal care tasks in the “pachyderms” area (including elephants, hippopotamuses, rhinoceroses, and domestic animals)

• Implementation of sustainable and continuous animal enrichment and habitat enrichment

• Animal training to facilitate veterinary care (medical training)

• Participation in the execution of animal transports and veterinary treatments

• Commentated animal presentations and visitor information

Your Profile:

• Completed vocational training as a zoo animal keeper

• In-depth specialist knowledge and many years of professional experience in the care of zoo and wild animals, especially elephants

• Experience in keeping elephants in direct contact is desirable

• IT skills and English language skills

• Personal development potential

• Strong cooperation and teamwork skills

• Above-average commitment and high willingness to work weekends and public holidays

• Personal responsibility and service orientation

• Willingness to participate in further training
